3 DAYS MAASAI MARA (LUXURY)

After a hearty breakfast, your driver-guide will report to your hotel for start of the safari, with a departure
for a picturesque drive descending the Great Rift Valley and onwards to Masai Mara, Kenya's famous
game reserve. Stop briefly en route at the Great Rift Valley view point to enjoy the stunning views of an
enormous valley system said to be visible from the outer space. Arrive in Maasai Mara in time for lunch.
After lunch you will have an afternoon game drive which will allow spotting of the magnificent wildlife
in the park. The reserve is known for providing excellent predator sightings thanks to its relatively large
population of lion, cheetah and leopard. Bordering Tanzania, the Mara is in the northern extension of
Serengeti and forms a wildlife corridor between the two countries. You'll return to the lodge for dinner
and overnight stay.

You will be taken on two game drives today, one in the morning before breakfast and the other in the late
afternoon. Early mornings and late afternoons are considered the best time to spot animals as they are
most active. To get some of the best game viewing of the day, an early start is needed to beat the heat of
the sun. This is the time that the big cats are most active and can provide some of the most dramatic
photography, thanks to the beautiful lighting. Although it might be tempting to stay in bed and wait until
the afternoon to explore, I promise you this is a game drive you don't want to miss.
Your will also have an opportunity to drive down to the Mara River, site of the Great Migration when in
season – July through October. The immense herds of wildebeest and zebra are a magnificent sight,
matched only by the drama of the predators who lie in wait for them. At the river, we’ll see hippos but
also camouflaged in their natural habitat we’ll spot the many crocodiles awaiting the wildlife traversing
the river. This is a spectacle that has played out for millennia.
To bring more texture to your experience at the Mara, you may want to take advantage of several optional
events we offer at an extra cost. Experience a visit to the local Maasai people in their nearby village.
Meet these indigenous people and see up close their ancient lifestyle and culture. Want an unforgettable
sight? Take a pre-dawn hot air balloon ride high above the reserve as the morning light breaks across the
golden savannah and witness the herds of wildlife emerging into the day. Your driver/guide can arrange
either of these optional excursions.

At the break of dawn, embark on your concluding game drive followed by a leisurely breakfast. Check
out for a return road transfer to Nairobi. Onward drop off transfer to the JKIA for your flight home or
drop off at your overnight city hotel.
