David Sheldrick’s Elephant Orphanage

Our first stop is truly the most unique animal care center in the world. Where else can you see dozens of
baby elephants being fed from giant milk bottles right before you? And then after the feeding, watch the
elephant babies roll about in the mud, playing, frolicking like young children everywhere. This world-
renowned sanctuary rescues orphaned elephants throughout Africa and hand raises them with expertise
and love. The Sheldrick Family has been taking in and caring for these orphaned babies for over forty
years. Over 200 have now been rescued and you can experience up close the expressions of compassion
and caring in this very special place.
But now it’s your feeding time and we’ll have lunch (at own cost) at the beautiful Karen Blixen Coffee
Garden then it’s on to the Giraffe Centre.

Giraffe Centre

Here at the Giraffe Centre, you can climb up the feeding tower and hand feed a food pellet to an
inquisitive giraffe.
Some lucky visitors have been known to get a giraffe kiss! The Centre is a refuge for the endangered
Rothschild’s giraffe. Here we’ll learn about this beautiful species at the special Information Centre. You
may also find yourself surrounded by dozens of schoolchildren, as this is a favorite outing for Kenya’s
youngsters.
Later, you’ll be driven to your city hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

DAY 1: NAIROBI-MASAI MARA NATIONAL RESERVE

After breakfast, you will be picked up from your hotel and depart for a picturesque drive to Masai Mara,
Kenya's famous game reserve. The reserve is world-famous for its incredible density of wildlife and
during the Great Migration (July – October) an unending torrent of gazelle, wildebeest, and zebra
streaming into the park from Serengeti across Mara river. Bordering Tanzania, Mara is in the northern
extension of Serengeti and forms a wildlife corridor between the two countries.
You’ll stop briefly en route at the Great Rift Valley view point to enjoy the stunning views of an
enormous valley system said to be visible from the outer space. Arrive in Maasai Mara in time for lunch
at your camp. After lunch you will have an afternoon game drive which will allow spotting of the
magnificent wildlife in the park. The reserve is known for providing excellent predator sightings thanks
to its relatively large population of lions, cheetahs and leopards. You'll return to the camp for dinner and
overnight stay.
Accommodation: Mara Leisure Camp
Meals & Drinks: All meals included, drinking water (Other drinks not included)

DAY 2-3: EXPLORE THE FAMOUS MARA

You’ll spend these days having unlimited game drives in this phenomenal reserve – explore as much as
you wish or take time to relax – the choice is yours. Just let your driver/guide know what you’d like to do.
Early mornings and late afternoons are considered the best time to spot animals as they are most active.
To get some of the best game viewing of the day, an early start is needed to beat the heat of the sun. This
is the time that the big cats are most active and can provide some of the most dramatic photography,
thanks to the beautiful lighting. Although it might be tempting to stay in bed and wait until the afternoon
to explore, I promise you this is a game drive you don't want to miss. An evening game drive over rolling
grassland dotted with a mixture of acacia trees and the plain will offer you excellent opportunities to spot
some of Africa's most notable species such as lions, elephants, giraffes, leopards, cheetahs and many
more. All of Africa’s Big Five are here in plenty
Your will have an opportunity to drive down to the Mara River, site of the Great Migration when in
season – July through October. The immense herds of wildebeest and zebra are a magnificent sight,
matched only by the drama of the predators who lie in wait for them. At the river, we’ll see hippos but
also camouflaged in their natural habitat we’ll spot the many crocodiles awaiting the wildlife traversing
the river. This is a spectacle that has played out for millennia.
To bring more texture to your experience at the Mara you can experience some of the optional activities
we offer at an extra cost. Visit the local Maasai people in their nearby village. Meet these indigenous
people and see up close their ancient lifestyle and culture or take a pre-dawn hot air balloon ride high
above the reserve as the morning light breaks across the golden savannah and witness the herds of
wildlife emerging into the day. The sight of the park coming to life is a never-to-be-forgotten experience
.Your driver/guide can arrange these optional excursions.
Accommodation: Mara Leisure Camp
Meals & Drinks: All meals included, drinking water (Other drinks not included)

DAY 4: MARA- LAKE NAKURU NP

After breakfast depart for a drive into the Great Rift Valley and on to Lake Nakuru national park- one of
the several Rift Valley lakes whose ecosystem supports a wide ecological diversity with Flamingos
(Greater and Lesser) and other water birds being the major attractions of the area. The ecosystem provides
for about 56 different species of mammals including the white rhino, buffaloes and a variety of terrestrial
birds numbering nearly 450 species. The park is truly remarkable as it has achieved international fame on
animal sanctuary. Both black and white Rhinos are being given a new lease of life in this park. Check in
at the lodge and have lunch. Go for a game drive in the evening which will include a walk by the shores
of the lake to get up-close with the many birds found here.
Accommodation: Lake Nakuru Sopa Lodge
Meals & Drinks: lunch, dinner, drinking water (Other drinks not included)

DAY 5: NAKURU-LAKE NAIVASHA

Have a leisurely breakfast at the lodge then proceed for a further drive at the park and depart in the late
morning for the nearby Lake Naivasha. You’ll arrive in time for lunch. Spend the rest of the day at
leisure. You will book a Boat ride Safari during which you get to see some of the lake's wildlife such as
hippos as well as enjoy the picturesque views of the lake and surrounding highland landscapes.
Lake Naivasha is a beautiful freshwater lake, fringed by thick papyrus. The lake and its surrounds are rich
in natural bounty, and the fertile soils and water supply have made this one of Kenya's prime agricultural
regions. Much of the lake is surrounded by forests of the yellow barked Acacia known as the yellow fever
tree. These forests abound with bird life. The waters of the lake draw a great range of game to these
shores. Giraffes wander among the acacia, Buffalo wallow in the swamps and Colobus monkeys call from
the treetops while the Lakes large hippo population sleep the day out in the shallows.
Accommodation: Kiboko luxury camp
Meals & Drinks: All meals included, drinking water (Other drinks not included)

DAY 6: NAIVASHA-AMBOSELI NATIONAL PARK

After breakfast, we will depart for a scenic drive to Amboseli National Park set at the foot of the
magnificent Mount Kilimanjaro. Amboseli National Park has a prolific population of elephants. Arrive in
time for lunch at Oltukai Lodge which is located right inside the national park. After lunch, an afternoon
game drive follows. Mount Kilimanjaro in its majesty shall provide the most natural background for
wildlife photography. Dinner and overnight at the Lodge.
Accommodation: Oltukai Lodge
Meals & Drinks: All meals included, drinking water (Other drinks not included)

DAY 7: AMBOSELI NATIONAL PARK

This being a full day in the Amboseli, you will have the option of a full day game drive or morning and
afternoon game drives. The giants here are the great herds of elephants-hundreds of them. Protected from
poachers, they carry their massive tusks with pride as they gather at predictable watering holes, delighting
the many who come to Amboseli National Park to view these noble creatures. Amboseli is known as the
best place in Africa for getting up close to free-ranging elephants. The population is so robust here that
sightings are guaranteed! It’s just one of the many reasons the park is the second most popular in Kenya.
Amboseli is also a photographer’s paradise. Those wonderful photos you’ve seen of elephants seemingly
posing in front of snow-capped Mt. Kilimanjaro? They were taken here. Kilimanjaro, the largest
mountain in Africa and the highest free-standing mountain in the world. And when the clouds burn off at
dusk or dawn, you’ll be treated to visions of its snowy peak.
On your game drives on Amboseli’s great horizons you will also spot zebras, buffalos, gazelles and of
course, cheetahs and lions and not to be overlooked – smaller mammals like hyena, foxes, jackals, vervet
monkey and the yellow baboons around. The bird life is equally rich especially in the park’s marshes and
lakes. Be ready for sightings of pelicans, kingfishers, crakes, egrets and the Madagascar heron. And
raptors – 47 types have been spotted including falcon and the harrier eagle.
Accommodation: Oltukai Lodge
Meals & Drinks: All meals included, drinking water (Other drinks not included)

DAY 8: AMBOSELI- NAIROBI- ZANZIBAR

You will have an early breakfast before leaving for Nairobi. You'll arrive in Nairobi in the early afternoon,
where you'll be transferred to one of our favourite nearby restaurants to have lunch after which you will
be driven to Wilson Airport to catch your flight to Zanzibar. Upon arrival at Zanzibar airport, our
representative will be waiting to transfer you to your beach hotel. After unpacking, feel free to kick back
on the sand amid the tall palms and enjoy the fantastic views of the Indian Ocean.
Zanzibar is regarded as one of East Africa's most beautiful island destinations. It has remained the prime
destination for those interested in experiencing a unique and diverse culture amidst a gorgeous natural
Zanzibar landscape. If you feel like venturing out, there's plenty to do. Take a stroll down the beach, go
snorkeling, or participate in one of the many activities available on the island.
Accommodation: Neptune Pwani Beach Resort & Spa
Meals & Drinks: All inclusive

DAY 9-11: EXPLORE ZANZIBAR

There are many optional activities to keep you busy in Zanzibar. Of course, the main attractions are its
inviting beaches. You can spend this day relaxing on one of these prized stretches of sand. Or, if you're
feeling social, there's no shortage of beach clubs and party vibes in the coastal village of Nungwi. If calm
and relaxation are your goals, head to Michamvi Kae for some isolation.
Maybe you'd prefer a snorkeling or diving tour. Matemwe, on the northeast coast, is the best place for
either activity, as it provides access to the coral reefs around the Mnemba Atoll. Or spend a day at Jozani
Forest, home to exotic animals like the red Colobus monkey. Explore the Kuumbi Caves in Jambiani on
the southeast coast for more nature. There are options besides swimming and hiking, like surfing,
kayaking in mangrove forests, or cycling around the island. You could also head out to sea for a sport-
fishing
You'll want to spend time in the main town, too. Besides beaches and nature, Zanzibar boasts a rich
history. The medieval center of the capital, Stone Town, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This warren
of alleyways, shops, bazaars, and mosques is home to some of Zanzibar's most historic buildings. One
standout is the Arab Fort, a defensive fortification built in the 17th century. A great activity is to stroll
Stone Town and admire its unique mix of Arabic architecture and Indian influences. You can also visit the
solemn site of a former slave market and learn about this sad part of the island's history.
Accommodation: Neptune Pwani Beach Resort & Spa
Meals & Drinks: All inclusive

DAY 12: DEPARTURE

Your Luxury Kenya & Zanzibar Holiday has sadly come to an end. Enjoy a final breakfast at the resort
before checking out. You'll be driven to the airport to check-in for your flight back to Nairobi where you
